First Look: More Urban Infill Planned in Southtown

April 14, 2016 by Bexar Witness Staff

Local developer Phillip Allen is involved in a project along the San Pedro Creek south of downtown.  No details are known yet, as Allen has said that the urban infill project is very early in the design phase. A company called 118 Guadalupe LLC, registered under Allen’s name, purchased a .32-acre property at South Flores and Guadalupe streets. The land in question is close to the Judson Candy Factory Lofts, which Allen developed nine years ago.

The South Flores corridor, from Cesar Chavez to well past South Alamo, has seen lots of residential and commercial redevelopment in the last few years, notably anchored by the new H-E-B grocery store.  Development continues to fill in gaps along the San Pedro Creek in anticipation of the proposed improvements along the creek.  Allen also developed the South End Lofts in the area.
