May 12, 2015 by Taylor Allen

Maverick Park, located at Broadway and Jones Ave has exciting plans in it future.  A grassroots effort to make park improvements, most notably, a dog park, officially kicks off today.  A small group of organizers are looking to crowdfunding as the mechanism to fund the proposed park improvements, with a goal to raise $35,000.  The campaign launches tonight at GS1221, located at 1221 Broadway Lofts.  Alamo Beer Company has agreed to match funds raised at tonight’s event.

With increased residential complete, under construction, and in the pipeline surrounding the park and close proximity to the Museum Reach of the San Antonio River, the goal is to activate the space.  If you can’t make the launch event tonight, you can donate online.
