PROJECT UPDATE: New Single Family Coming to Southtown

June 21, 2016 by Bexar Witness Staff

San Antonio District 5 City Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales and representatives from PSW Real Estate gathered on Monday, June 20, to celebrate the ground-breaking of Clay Street Homes, a single-family home development project. Clay Street Homes, located at 330 Clay St., is a 32-unit development of for-sale single-family homes located in the Lone Star Arts District near Blue Star.

As part of the Center City Housing Incentive Program, this project will receive $764,497 in incentives from the city for the creation of additional housing within the center city. The project is scheduled to be completed by late summer 2017. “Clay Street Homes is an exciting project in District 5 that will add 32 new housing units to this booming area,” said Shirley Gonzales in a news release.

“This development, along with other nearby residential developments, art galleries and entertainment, adds to the vibrancy of the Southtown area and attests to the increasing desirability and livability of the inner city.” Clay Street Homes features 32 modern single-family residences with open living spaces, efficient storage and energy efficient standards. Home sites are situated along an alluring landscaped pedestrian path that connects residents to downtown. The homes range from two to three bedrooms and 1,250 to 1,675 square feet. Sale prices will start at $292,000.

“PSW is very fortunate to partner with the city of San Antonio to bring new single-family homes to Southtown,” said Jarred Corbell, PSW’s senior project manager, in the release. “Clay Street Homes will offer an incredible urban lifestyle in one of San Antonio’s most historical yet vibrant neighborhoods.” City officials have been working with developers to increase opportunities for people who want live in San Antonio’s urban core, as well as work and play in the area.

This is the latest local infill project for the Austin-based PSW. Within the last year and a half, the company has been developing Olmos Drive, a single-family home community in Olmos Park, and Terrell Road, a single-family home community in Alamo Heights. Sales prices for each of these developments had begun in the mid to high $500,000 level. For more information, visit PSW.
